MILK AND GHEE

According to ayurveda, fresh milk nourishes the vital energy and supports immunity and calmness, while pure ghee enhances digestion, lubricates tissues, and promotes overall strength and mental clarity.

In ayurveda, fresh yogurt supports gut health and strengthens digestion when taken appropriately, while butter, builds strength, and provides grounding, cooling energy to the body.

Dung and biogas are valued for naturally enriching soil fertility, producing clean renewable fuel from organic waste, and supporting a closed-loop farm system that nurtures the earth while reducing environmental impact.

Traditionally valued in ayurveda for its detoxifying and immunity-supporting properties, it helps balance digestion and promote overall metabolic health when used appropriately.

They gently aerate and soften the soil as they work, improving water absorption, encouraging microbial life, and preparing the land for healthier, more resilient crop growth.

They are traditionally valued for enhancing plant vitality and soil fertility while supporting holistic wellness practices rooted in ayurvedic and vedic agriculture.

They help protect crops while restoring soil health, offering a chemical-free way to nourish plants and support long-term ecological balance.

Handcrafted with care from natural materials, eco-friendly products like incense sticks, soaps and lamps turn sustainability into everyday rituals.

The Gir breed

pure A2 Gir cow milk and ghee from ahimsa dairy Krishna Valley Victoria Australia
Gir cows produce A2 milk that’s easier to digest and naturally rich in nutrients. They’re highly adaptable, thriving in different climates, and have strong immunity, making them a resilient breed.

They typically produce around 10 litres of nutrient-dense milk a day and have a long reproductive life, often giving birth to 10–12 calves. Their colostrum is especially rich and nourishing.

Supporting locally raised Gir cows helps protect their lineage while preserving their long-term health benefits.

The Gir breed

Gir cows produce A2 milk rich in A2 beta-casein, known for its easier digestion and wholesome nutrition. They are a highly adaptable breed, able to thrive in varied climates and environments. With strong natural immunity, they are less prone to diseases and health issues.

They yield nutrient-dense milk, typically producing around 10 litres per day. Gir cows also have a long reproductive life, often giving birth to 10–12 calves over their lifetime. Their colostrum is considered exceptionally rich and nourishing.

Recognisable by their distinct hump and sturdy build, they are naturally resilient. Supporting locally raised Gir cows helps sustain their lineage while preserving their lifelong health benefits.

Meet the herd

ANURADHA

MEET

ANURADHA

Birthday: 8 September 2015
Family: Mum is Lady, Dad is Sir Gir Escosses, I’ve got a son called Jai Jagannatha and a sibling named Malati.

G’day! I’m Anuradha, and I reckon I’m what you’d call a “people cow.” Bottle-fed as a calf, I never got the memo that I’m supposed to be aloof—I’m basically still the baby of the group, and honestly, I own it. Sure, I might be smaller than some of the Brahmans around here, but that’s never stopped me from wading into the herd drama with zero hesitation. I’m curious about everything, endlessly affectionate, and I’ve got a personality that fills a room. Joy? That’s my default setting. If something interesting is happening, I’ll be there—probably poking my nose in and making friends. Life’s too short to be anything but delighted about it.

MEET

BALIMAN

Birthday: 20 November 2024
Family: Mum is Padmavati, Dad is Radar, Grandma is Chandrika, Great-grandma is Lali, Great-grandpa is Lochan.

Hare Krishna! I’m Baliman, the youngest in the herd, and yeah, I’m basically the cool, calm, collected type—even though I’m still a baby. Big for my age with this speckled roan coat that I reckon looks pretty sharp, I’m the kind of calf who doesn’t need to rush into things. Curious? Absolutely. But I’m doing it on my own terms. I’ll wander over and say hello to visitors, especially if treats are on the table (I’m not not food-motivated), but I’m not the sort to lose my mind over them. Steady, thoughtful, patient with myself—that’s me. I’ve got this quiet confidence thing happening, and I’m growing into my strength without all the fuss. Think wise-beyond-my-years vibes, but in a very bovine way.

MEET

CHANDRIKA

Birthday: 1 April 2018
Family: Mum is Lali, Dad is Lochan, I’ve got a daughter Padmavati and a grandbaby called Baliman, plus a sibling Haridas.

G’day, I’m Chandrika. I used to be a bit shy, if I’m honest, but these days I’m quietly finding my confidence and it feels great. I don’t do herd drama—not interested, thanks—but I’m not fading into the background either. I know what I like (scratches behind the horns, specifically), and if the cowherds forget, well, that rope on the gate becomes very appealing. I genuinely enjoy people, but in a calm, grounded way. A bit cheeky when the mood strikes, observant, and steady as they come. Spend enough time with me and you’ll get it—I’m the kind of presence that grows on you.

MEET

DAUJI

Birthday: 16 August 2015
Family: Mum is Hamsi, Dad is Newhope, my twin sister is Revati.

Right, so I’m Dauji, and I’m basically impossible to miss—over a tonne of pure, magnificent bovine, with horns that command respect. Largest animal in the herd, mate. But here’s the thing: despite looking like I could shift a building, I’m mostly just a gentle giant who prefers to stay close to the crew. Will I remind the younger boys where they stand? Absolutely. That’s part of the job. I choose my moments with visitors though—sometimes I’m not feeling it—but when I am? Brushes, cuddles, hand-fed fruit and veg treats. Yep, soft as they come underneath. It’s not complicated: I’m big, I’m mild, and I’m at peace with that.

MEET

DEVAKI

Birthday: 30 December 2019
Family: Mum is Madhavi, Dad is Sanz T.E, Gran is Ekadashi, Great-gran is Aruni, siblings are Gauri and Gita Govinda.

G’day, I’m Devaki. Strong-bodied, big personality—that’s me in a nutshell. I’ve grown into a steady, capable cow with this quiet confidence that just… works. Sure, I can be a bit aloof sometimes, but when I decide to engage? I’m all in. Warm, trusting, and always keen for fruit and veggie treats. I’m also not shy about what I prefer—back scratches, yes please; head scratches, no thanks. Very clear boundaries, and I’m not apologetic about it. But here’s the real thing: I’m a deeply caring mother, patient and attentive with every calf like they’re my own. I move through the herd with quiet assurance, and that’s a vibe.

MEET

DHARMA

Birthday: 4 December 2022
Family: Mum is Devaki, Dad is Zyrill, Gran is Madhavi, Great-gran is Ekadashi, Great-great-gran is Aruni.

G’day, I’m Dharma. Tall, handsome, and honestly? Quite sensitive to the world around me. I feel things deeply, and sometimes that means I get startled easily and need to move on from unexpected moments. I’m still learning to feel properly at ease around people, but that’s okay—I’m taking my time. Calm, steady energy is my language, and when things feel gentle and unhurried, I’ll quietly come forward for treats. I’m close mates with Gita and Lalita, and the three of us can amplify each other’s excitement, curiosity, and nerves pretty quick-smart. But with time, patience, and kindness? I’m building confidence in my own way, and that’s enough.

MEET

EKADASHI

Birthday: 25 September 2015
Family: Mum is Aruni, Dad is Newhope, my kids are Madhavi and Nandaraja, and I’ve got grandkids and great-grandkids scattered through the herd

Right, listen—I’m Ekadashi, and I’m basically a brilliant, bold live wire with zero off switch. The matriarch of this herd, mate. Fiercely intelligent, fearless, and completely transparent about my wants: I will work out how to get into the feed stores, I will push past anyone between me and brushes or treats, and I’ll appear instantly wherever something interesting is happening. Deeply affectionate with people I trust, trusting, often first in line for attention—sometimes I need reminding to let others have a turn. Sharp-minded, sassy, endlessly curious, and I lead with confidence that’s absolutely unmistakable. In other words, I run this place. And I’m fine with that.

MEET

GAURI

Birthday: 10 May 2021
Family: Mum is Madhavi, Dad is Sanz T.E, Gran is Ekadashi, Great-gran is Aruni, siblings are Devaki and Gita Govinda.

G’day, I’m Gauri. Big in stature, even bigger in heart—and yeah, I know people love me, and that’s cool. I genuinely enjoy human company and I lean into affection like it’s my job. Calm, confident, steady—I’m the kind of presence that makes people feel at ease straight away. I’m often brought out separately so visitors (especially kids) can spend proper time with me, patting and cuddling, and honestly? That makes my day. As a mum, I’m dutiful and caring—shows up for the calves without drama. I just move through the world with a warmth that people respond to, and I’m pretty content with that arrangement.

MEET

GAYATRI

Birthday: 30 January 2021
Family: Mum is Rasa Yatra, Dad is Sanz T.E, Gran is Sita Priya, Grandpa is Lochan, Great-gran is Humsi, I’ve got a daughter called Nainika.

G’day, I’m Gayatri. Sweetness personified—that’s what they tell me. I’m a little fluffier than the rest of the crew, with what I reckon is a pretty sweet face, short neck, and a cuddly body. Curious, affectionate, mild-mannered—and apparently I’m the “vegetarian maker” because of how my face looks. I love cuddles and brushes, often resting my head on a cowherd’s shoulder for proper hugs and kisses. Always interested in what’s happening around me, and I’m mates with Pushpa Sara, Padmavati, and Gauri. And nectarines? Don’t even get me started—they’re heaven.

MEET

GIRIDHARI

Birthday: October 2011
Family: I’ve got a son called Pradyumna

Hare Krishna! I’m Giridhari, the resident bull and steady leader of this herd. Strength with gentleness—that’s my whole thing. I’m big, I’m majestic, and my black-and-grey colouring makes me the only dark-coated cow here, so yeah, I stand out. My horns might look a bit intimidating at first glance, but I’m calm, affectionate, and genuinely enjoy people—brushes, hand-fed treats, the lot. With the herd, I lead with patience, especially with the younger blokes. You might see me kick up some dust, mark the ground, call out loud—that’s just me expressing my power and confidence, whether I’m impressing the girls or reminding everyone who’s actually in charge. It’s natural. It’s me.

MEET

GITA GOVINDA

Birthday: 13 January 2023
Family: Mum is Madhavi, Dad is Sanz T.E, Gran is Ekadashi, Great-gran is Aruni, siblings are Devaki and Gauri.

G’day, I’m Gita Govinda—most people call me Gita. I’m curious, sweet-natured, and quick on my feet. A bit flighty if I’m honest, and easily stirred up, which means I’m often the first to react, especially when I’m with Dharma and Lalita. One raised eyebrow from any of us and the whole trio’s on the move. Cautious around people, not keen on being approached—I prefer space and time to feel safe. I’m still young and carrying the lineage of some pretty strong females, so I’m very much in the process of growing into myself. Confidence for me comes in small, fluttering steps, and that’s okay.

MEET

HARIDAS

Birthday: 16 September 2019
Family: Mum is Lali, Dad is Lochan, sibling is Chandrika, maternal sibling is Pradyumna, paternal siblings are Rasa Yatra, Nandaraja, and Jhulan Yatra.

G’day, I’m Haridas. I’ve got my mum Lali’s soft sweetness, and I’ve basically inherited her “easy-going” genes. Affectionate by nature, I enjoy spending time with both the other cows and the cowherds—brushes, cuddles, attention, and especially fruit and veggie treats. Honestly, I’m a simple bloke with a hearty appetite and a calm, trusting presence. I move through the herd with gentle confidence, and I’m a bit of a follower rather than a leader. During busy moments, I’m cool staying to the side, often just following Nandaraja’s lead. It works for me.

MEET

JAHNAVI

Birthday: 22 February 2020
Family: Mum is Varuni, Dad is Sanz T.E, Gran is Aruni, I’ve got a daughter called Nainika

G’day, I’m Jahnavi. Once I was gentle and reserved, but I’ve grown into a strong-willed cow with a very clear sense of where I stand in this herd. Confident, dominant—I won’t hesitate to remind the younger cows of their place, moving with quiet authority and self-assurance. But here’s what people don’t always see: underneath all that strength is the same beautiful soul. My coat shines in the sun, and when I’m in the mood, I’ll seek out brushes and cuddles, enjoy fruit and veggie treats, spend time with the crew I trust. That firmness and affection? They live together just fine.

MEET

JAI JAGANNATHA

Birthday: 10 July 2019
Family: Mum is Anuradha, Dad is Sanz T.E, Gran is Lady

Hare Krishna! I’m Jai Jagannatha, and I’m basically a big softie with an open heart for people. Hand-reared as a calf by the cowherds, I never forgot what that love felt like, and I’ve carried it with me into adulthood. Trusting, gentle, endlessly affectionate—I actively seek out pats and attention whether it’s a quiet moment or right in the middle of a festival. Here’s a funny bit: at some point, I decided I’d had enough of life with the boys and just calmly moved in with the girls—where I’ve been ever since. Brushes, cuddles, fruit and veggie treats? Yes to all of it. I’m a favourite with visitors, and I’m at peace with that.

MEET

JHULAN YATRA

Birthday: 15 August 2024
Family: Mum is Devaki, Dad is Lochan, Gran is Madhavi, Great-gran is Ekadashi, sibling is Dharma, paternal siblings are Rasa Yatra, Chandrika, Nandaraja, and Haridas

G’day, I’m Jhulan Yatra. Small in frame but honestly? Full of presence. I’ve got a bright, intelligent nature that sets me apart from some of the other young ones. Trusting, curious, beautifully self-aware—I move through the herd in my own way, completely unbothered by the moods or antics of the others around me. I’ve got a sweet temperament and a large character, which means people naturally draw to me. I offer a calm, thoughtful kind of connection that feels gentle and genuine. Still young, still figuring it out, but pretty content with who I’m becoming.

MEET

LALITA

Birthday: 21 September 2023
Family: Mum is Gauri, Dad is Zyrill, Gran is Madhavi, Great-gran is Ekadashi, Great-great-gran is Aruni

G’day, I’m Lalita. Beautiful, self-possessed, and honestly? A bit wary of the world. I like to take things at my own pace, and yeah, I can be skittish if something catches me off guard. I tend to keep my distance, though I warm up more easily to women and calm, gentle energy—there’s something about that vibe that just works for me. Confident in myself, but also a bit aloof. I move through the herd on my own terms, and you’ll often find me hanging with Dharma and Gita Govinda. The three of us feed off each other’s moods—trust blooms best when it isn’t rushed, and I’m living proof of that.

MEET

MADHAVI

Birthday: 2 September 2017
Family: Mum is Ekadashi, Dad is Cochise, Gran is Aruni, my kids are Devaki, Gauri, and Gita Govinda, plus I’ve got grandkids scattered through.

G’day, I’m Madhavi. Big, intelligent, and carrying my mum Ekadashi’s bold spirit into everything I do. Born right here at Hare Krishna Valley, so this place is genuinely home. Clever and confident—I’ll work out how to reach the feed first, no drama. I fearlessly step forward for cuddles, brushes, treats, you name it. Dominant and charismatic in the herd, I assert myself without apology, but I also keep a protective eye on those around me. Strong, even-tempered, deeply capable—I move through this mob with natural leadership and steady assurance. It’s not a burden; it’s just who I am.

MEET

MADHU

Birthday: 22 November 2016
Family: Mum is Sita Priya, Dad is Sir Gir Escosses, Gran is Humsi, sibling is Rasa Yatra.

G’day, I’m Madhu. Strong, masculine, with beautifully intricate horns that definitely make people pause when they clock me. I’m curious, observant, always keeping an eye on what’s happening—but I very much like to decide for myself when I’m in the mood for people. Some days I’ll wander over for a treat or a hello. Other days? I’d rather keep my space, mate. A little cantankerous at times, and quietly charming because of it. Independence has its own kind of sweetness, and I’ve figured that out.

MEET

MALATI

Birthday: 14 September 2017
Family: Mum is Lady, Dad is Cochise, I’ve got a daughter called Pushpa Sara, sibling is Anuradha.

G’day, I’m Malati. Sweet-natured and sensitive—I basically move through life in my own world. Smaller than many of the others and low on the pecking order, but here’s the thing: I don’t always respect that hierarchy. I’ll quietly challenge anyone if the mood strikes. My long horns point off in different directions, kind of like my attention, which means I’m often the last to notice the herd’s moved on—or I just decide I’d rather stay where I am anyway. Approachable, affectionate, and I absolutely love fruit and veggie treats and gentle attention from visitors. I’ve got this calm, wandering charm that’s entirely my own.

MEET

NAINIKA

Birthday: 6 February 2024
Family: Mum is Jahnavi, Dad is Radar, Gran is Varuni, Great-gran is Aruni.

G’day, I’m Nainika. Soft-natured, steady, and carrying sweetness that honestly makes a lovely contrast with my feisty mum, Jahnavi. Curious and forthcoming—I’m happy to come over for pats and affection, and I’ll often return the kindness with a few enthusiastic licks of my own. My calm presence and caramel-brown coat seem to have this easy warmth that just draws people in and leaves them smiling. Still young, still figuring it all out, but pretty happy with how I’m going.

MEET

NANDARAJA

Birthday: 31 August 2019
Family: Mum is Ekadashi, Dad is Lochan, maternal sibling is Madhavi, paternal siblings are Rasa Yatra, Chandrika, Haridas, and Jhulan Yatra

G’day, I’m Nandaraja. Big personality, even bigger curiosity—I’m always the first one to see what’s happening around here. Trusting and affectionate by nature, I love attention from the cowherds and visitors alike. Brushes, cuddles, hand-fed fruit and veg treats? Bring it on. I’m friendly and confident with my bovine mates, and you’ll usually find me hanging with Haridas—the two of us move together like a close pair among the other big boys. When it’s feed time, I’m comfortable holding my ground, showing quiet strength underneath my warm, social nature. Best of both worlds, really.

MEET

PADMAVATI

Birthday: 17 April 2021
Family: Mum is Chandrika, Dad is Sanz T.E, Gran is Lali, Grandpa is Lochan, I’ve got a son called Baliman.

G’day, I’m Padmavati. Curious and gentle by nature, I’ve grown into a very sweet and dutiful mum. Friendly with visitors—I’m often one of the first to come over for pats and affection, and I’ll quietly linger long after the others have wandered off, just in case there might be another treat or cuddle happening. Soft-hearted, calm, deeply attached to my best mate Gauri—the two of us are often found resting or grazing side by side. With my warm presence and steady affection, I’ve got a way of making people feel instantly welcome. That’s just my vibe.

MEET

PRADYUMNA

Birthday: 14 December 2016
Family: Mum is Lali, Dad is Giridhari, siblings are Chandrika and Haridas

G’day, I’m Pradyumna. Big-bodied, steady, calm, watchful—that’s me. Often content to sit slightly off to the side enjoying my own company while keeping a quiet eye on everything around me. Deeply protective by nature—I’ll stay back with my mum Lali when she needs extra time and remain especially alert when the boys are nearby in the neighbouring paddock. Gentle and mild-mannered is my default, but here’s the real talk: I’ve got a very clear enthusiasm for food. Won’t hesitate to push my way forward when fruit or veggie treats are on offer. A bloke’s gotta eat.

MEET

PUSHPA SARA

Birthday: 19 September 2020
Family: Mum is Malati, Dad is Sanz T.E, Gran is Lady

G’day, I’m Pushpa Sara. Sweet by nature, small in stature, full-blood Gir with a beautiful curved profile and expressive face that match my gentle spirit perfectly. Bigger cows might nudge me around sometimes, but that doesn’t dampen my confidence one bit. I absolutely adore people and happily weave my way in for brushes and cuddles, often leaning in or resting my head on a shoulder just to be included. Gentle with calves, always curious about what’s happening, moving through the herd with softness, charm, and honestly? A lot of heart.

MEET

RASA YATRA

Birthday: 3 November 2017
Family: Mum is Sita Priya, Dad is Lochan, Gran is Humsi, daughter is Gayatri, maternal sibling is Madhu, paternal siblings are Chandrika, Nandaraja, and Jhulan Yatra

G’day, I’m Rasa Yatra. Sweet-natured, gentle, short and stocky like my dad Lochan. Once I was timid as a calf, but my confidence has blossomed over time and I’ve grown into an affectionate presence. Now I happily seek out brushes, cuddles, and any treats on offer. Mild-mannered, easy-going—I move through the herd without needing to dominate. Herd politics? Not my scene. I prefer calm companionship and good vibes. Attentive, loving, I carry myself with a quiet warmth that’s felt by both cows and people alike. It’s a good way to be.

MEET

REVATI

Birthday: 16 August 2015
Family: Mum is Humsi, Dad is Newhope, sibling is Dauji (my twin)

G’day, I’m Revati. Biggest of the girls with unmistakably large horns, and yeah, I’m reserved and observant. I keep my distance from people unless trust—or treats—are involved. But here’s where it gets interesting: among the herd? Far more assertive. I confidently boss younger cows and calves, keep a close eye on everything happening. Can’t have calves of my own, so I’ve naturally taken on the role of aunty. When new calves arrive, I’m keenly interested and protective. With humans, I’m cautious, but those who earn my trust get cuddles, brushes, and my unmistakable scratchy licks—especially if treats are on offer.

MEET

SITA PRIYA

Birthday: 8 April 2014
Family: Mum is Humsi, Dad is Norman, my kids are Madhu and Rasa Yatra, grandchild is Gayatri

Hare Krishna! I’m Sita Priya. Confident, beautiful, and knowing my own mind—I hold a special place here as the first cow ever born into this herd at Hare Krishna Valley. That’s a big deal. I prefer the company of my bovine friends and seek out brushes and affection on my own terms—especially if treats are involved. Strong-willed, a little bossy, I enjoy asserting myself among the younger cows and happily join in the herd’s antics. Never shy about expressing myself, I’ll often call out to Manigriva when I want something. Confident presence? Impossible to ignore. That’s my legacy here.
